Chicken Adobo

Do you know how to make chicken adobo?

Of course I do.

But what you really want to ask me is if I am Filipino enough?

Cuz I was born in America.

Though not in California.

then you ask me how did my family end up in Missouri?

and why don’t I speak Tagalog?

Does that make me less Filipino American?

The basic ingredients of adobo: Vinegar, Soy Sauce, Garlic and Pepper

Depending on the region,

Adobo could be prepared with more or less of the same ingredients

and it is still considered adobo.
